Directions

North Haven is an unabridged island 12 miles off the coast of Maine. We are serviced by a Maine State Ferry that has a terminal in Rockland Maine. The ferry makes 3 round trips per day. It leaves Rockland at 9:30, 2:20, & 5:15. (Don’t get on the wrong ferry, some ferries leave the same terminal for Vinalhaven, our neighbor island. Our ferry is named the “Captain Neal Burgess”, see photo below) The trip takes 1 hour and 10 minutes. The ferry leaves North Haven at 7:30, 12:30, & 3:45. (3:45 is the last chance to get off the island - don’t miss it)
Please do NOT bring a car out if you are only coming out to rent a bike for the day. As you will see below we are located right next to the ferry dock. It’s extremely difficult to get a car back and forth on the ferry in the summertime. While North Haven is truly beautiful it’s no place to get stuck overnight!

Our boats may be picked up at our family boatyard, Brown’s Boatyard the long, red building directly next to the ferry dock. (East or on your Right if you are facing town) Please ask for Adam.

Bikes can be picked up at 7 Seaside Lane. (See map below)

If you are staying in Vinalhaven we can meet you at the Vinalhaven Town Float which is on the Thorofare directly opposite our boatyard.

Below is an aerial photo with arrows pointing out how to find us.

Look for North Haven

When in Rockland about to board the ferry check the home port up on the bridge, Both the North Haven and Vinalhaven ferries share the same dock, so it can be confusing. You must get on the North Haven ferry to get to our business!
