The coast of Maine is one of the most interesting, diverse and scenic areas in the world. Spending time on one of the inhabited islands of Mid-Coast Maine--North Haven, Vinalhaven and Isleboro--is a highlight for many visitors. We are also surrounded by many beautiful, tiny, uninhabited islands. Penobscot Bay's cluster of jewel-like islands are covered with scented spruce, seagull colonies, wild strawberries and blueberries, and treasure covered beaches just waiting to be scouted out! Expand you dream vacation to include a day (or a few weeks) of sea voyages by renting one of our safe, reliable boats. Let us help you explore more!
It's no surprise that mother-son duo, Kim and Adam Alexander teamed up to create a boat rental business. They live on a beautiful island in Maine and have worked with boats for decades. Having grown up working in their family's business, Brown's Boatyard, family business is the model they know best! Brown's Boatyard has been owned and operated by their family since Kim's great-grandfather James Osmond Brown founded it in 1888. Their own side project is much more recent. In 2014 Adam was fed up with having no answer to the frequently asked question, "Where can you rent a boat on this island?" So, he started renting his own boat throughout the summer when he wasn't using it. Business was great, but pretty soon his boat was so popular he couldn't use it himself. Expanding the boat inventory was obvious, but it meant needing a bit of help, so Kim joined in. Together they offer a reliable rental fleet and bring you solid experience and service that will enhance your stay in our summer paradise.
